Soccer Saturday: The Quick Return of Zinedine Zidane

Back at the helm of Real Madrid after 284-day hiatus

The F.A. Cup quarterfinals take center stage in England, with three matches. But the teams not involved will be playing their Premier League games as scheduled, and there are three matches as well around the country.

Real Madrid will take the pitch with Zinedine Zidane at the helm, after the three-time UEFA Champions League winning coach was rehired by the club. Zidane stepped down in the summer after his third consecutive European Cup, but will be back in charge following what turned out to be a 284-day hiatus. Real Madrid hosts Celta Vigo, and will look to re-establish its dominance over the continent starting Saturday.

In the EFL Championship, with the second and third place teams (Leeds United hosts Sheffield United) battling, Norwich City will know one or both of the teams behind it will drop points. It gives the Canaries a perfect opportunity to open up a gap at the top, with just eight matches to go, with a win at relegation-threatened Rotherham United.
