Thiessen's NHL Tuesday: Toronto Maple Leafs at Montreal Canadiens, Nashville Predators at Carolina Hurricanes

Toronto Maple Leafs (-177) at Montreal Canadiens (+145), 7:30 p.m. EDT (NBCSN and Fubo.TV); Nashville Predators (+163) at Carolina Hurricanes (-200), 8 p.m. EDT (CNBC and Fubo.TV).

After what looked like a disastrous first round for the NHL playoffs (at least, for television’s sake), all of a sudden we have some life.

While Colorado and Winnipeg swept, and Boston won in five, we have the potential to see three or four series go deep into this week.

That is good news for NHL fans and bettors.

Montreal is the one team tonight that will decide if its series goes at least six games, or could end Thursday in Toronto. I feel like the Canadiens have a little life in them.

I think Carolina will want to shut down the Nashville momentum tonight, and try to close it out in six. Nashville can do the same, but the Hurricanes are at home with a raucous crowd, and should be able to score some goals tonight.
