Saturday NHL: Peterson picks Buffalo Sabres vs Boston Bruins, New Jersey Devils vs Philadelphia Flyers

The Boston Bruins (29-14-6) are 8-2 in their last ten games. Fresh off of a 5-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres (13-31-7) Thursday night, Boston will play host to Buffalo Saturday afternoon on home ice. Although the Sabres are showing signs of life and playing with a purpose, it's hard to turn the other cheek on how well the Bruins are playing. Buffalo is 1-4 in their last five games overall and all four losses have been decided by a two goal margin or more. Take Boston on the Puck Line here.

PICK: Boston Bruins -1.5 (-132)

New Jersey Devils (+130) @ Philadelphia Flyers (-150), 7 pm EDT

In the last three meetings between the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers, the Devils pulled ahead early in each game and then had to fend off late Philadelphia surges. New Jersey has won two of the past three games against Philadelphia, including a 5-3 victory Thursday night. Although the Flyers should be defeating teams ranked lower than them in the standings, the Devils have looked pretty impressive in their past three games- all of which have been against Philadelphia. The New Jersey Moneyline at +130 is tempting here because they are simply playing better hockey, but the fact that all three games have been like a record on repeat: 'Devils come out hot, Flyers rally late' is kind of concerning. Because of this, go lightly on the Moneyline.

The safer bet here is the total going over six goals. Thursday night saw a total of eight goals and both teams are no strangers to high-scoring games. New Jersey has hit the over in their past eight games and Philadelphia has hit the over in six of their past ten.

PICK: New Jersey Devils (+130), Over 6 (-105)
