Wednesday NHL Bets: Peterson picks St. Louis Blues vs Minnesota Wild, Edmonton Oilers vs Winnipeg Jets

St. Louis Blues (+120) @ Minnesota Wild (-140), 7 pm EDT; Edmonton Oilers (-113) @ Winnipeg Jets (-107), 9 pm EDT.

St. Louis Blues (+120) @ Minnesota Wild (-140), 7 pm EDT

Since losing two in a row to the St. Louis Blues (20-19-6), the Minnesota Wild (31-13-3) have rattled off seven wins in a row and will look to solve the St. Louis puzzle Wednesday night on home ice in St. Paul. The Blues have been a mediocre team this season on paper, but they have managed to pull off some pretty impressive victories as of late including two in a row over Minnesota as well as two in a row over Colorado. The Wild are averaging 4.3 goals per game in their last ten while the Blues are averaging 3.1, and both teams are averaging 2.9 goals against. Considering the Wild have been lights out at home this season and the Blues have been on fire, take the over 5.5 goals here instead of siding with either team as this game could easily go either way.

PICK: Over 5.5 (-105)

Edmonton Oilers (-113) @ Winnipeg Jets (-107), 9 pm EDT

The Edmonton Oilers (28-16-2) have been absolutely dominant over the Winnipeg Jets (27-18-3) this season. What's strange is the fact that they hold nearly identical records so you wouldn't expect domination from either side. But the last three meetings have been decided by two plus goals, including Edmonton's Monday night 6-1 thumping of Winnipeg. The Oilers are 6-4 in their last ten games, whereas the Jets are an alarming 1-4 in their last five. Expect a much tighter game Wednesday night and side with the Oilers on the Moneyline as it is the safest bet here.

PICK: Edmonton Oilers (-113)
