Bet NHL Wednesday: Peterson picks Calgary Flames vs Montreal Canadiens, Arizona Coyotes vs Minnesota Wild

The Montreal Canadiens are 18-12-9 and sit in fourth place right behind the Edmonton Oilers in the North. Fresh off of a 4-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs Monday night, the Canadiens have all the potential to be playoff contenders. Unfortunately, they are swimming in a shark tank of a division that is led by the Maple Leafs, Jets and Oilers and there is only so much room for playoff spots.

With this said, Montreal is light years beyond just an average team. They have the ability to defeat anyone on any given night as displayed in their recent victory over Toronto. The Minnesota Wild are coming off of back-to-back losses to the St. Louis Blues, one of them a 9-1 slaughter and the other a heartbreaking 3-2 loss in OT. The Wild will play host to the always hungry Arizona Coyotes Wednesday night in St. Paul. Minnesota is 5-5 in their last ten overall and the majority of their struggles have come on the road.

Arizona has now lost four in a row but should not be taken lightly as they have plenty of talent. Although the Wild have soundly defeated Arizona multiple times this season, expect to see a close game that ultimately ends in Minnesota's favor.
