Saturday Afternoon NHL: Peterson picks Sabres vs Bruins, Rangers vs Flyers, Golden Knights vs Avalanche

Buffalo Sabres (+309) @ Boston Bruins (-355), 1 pm EDT; New York Rangers (-135) @ Philadelphia Flyers (+115), 1 pm EDT; Vegas Golden Knights (+148) @ Colorado Avalanche (-175), 3 pm EDT

Buffalo Sabres (+309) @ Boston Bruins (-355), 1 pm EDT

For the Buffalo Sabres this season, not much has gone right. COVID issues, too many losses in a row to count, etc. If you're a diehard Buffalo fan who loyally puts money on them, you've lost the shirt off your back this season and probably the house, too. On the flip side of that, the Boston Bruins have at least shown promise and signs of life. Sitting at #4 in the East and having just defeated Buffalo 4-1 a week ago, put a little cash on the Bruins to win again by a few goals.

PICK: Boston Bruins -1.5 (-137)

New York Rangers (-135) @ Philadelphia Flyers (+115), 1 pm EDT

To say the New York Rangers are blowing minds lately would be an understatement. Not because they're winning games, that's to be expected, but rather because they are averaging a staggering 5.2 goals per game in their last 5! 17 of those have come against the Philadelphia Flyers, but 5+ goals scored per game is still impressive regardless. Philadelphia is averaging 2.4 goals per game, and the last 3 meetings between these teams have seen 9+ total in each game. Lay some coin on the OVER here.

PICK: Over 6 (-110)

Vegas Golden Knights (+148) @ Colorado Avalanche (-175), 3 pm EDT

One could say that the Colorado Avalanche and the Vegas Golden Knights are both undoubtedly in the top 5 right now across the board, and Thursday nights 5-1 thrashing of Vegas by Colorado was highly unexpected. Colorado has lit a fire lately that no opposition seems to be able to fend off, displayed by recent thumpings of very credible teams (Minnesota Wild 2x, Vegas Golden Knights, etc). Averaging 5 goals per game over their past 5 while only allowing 1.8 per game in the process is very impressive. Vegas has been averaging around 3 goals per game and allowing 3 as well. It's a bit steep at -175, but give me Colorado on the Moneyline anyway because they're in the fast lane right now and aren't slowing down.

PICK: Colorado Avalanche Moneyline (-175)
