Saturday NHL props: Now that Flyer Claude Giroux has finally scored, Boop is betting he'll do it again

Thurssday night, Claude Giroux scored a goal that actually stayed on his permanent record for good. That is unlike the marker he notched on Jan. 21 against the Bruins, only to have the official scorer notice that Travis Konecny had tipped the puck just before it eluded Tuukka Rask and into the Boston net.

But – and we triple-checked this!!! – his third-period goal against the Devils two nights ago still stands. And like a slumping three-point shooter who gets a breakaway layup, we expect that to be the start of big things for the captain.

Now, he faces the Islanders, who eliminated Philly in a seven-game second-round playoff matchup last season. What he may not have is Konecny, who is tied for the Flyers’ lead with five goals. During the morning skate, Konecny was out on the ice with the “healthy scratches”, so it appears he may be taking a seat Saturday evening.

Those things are not set in stone, but it usually is a pretty good indicator. But whether TK plays or not, we are all in on “G”!
