NHL Friday Prop Bets from Boop: Two plays from Rangers vs Penguins

Rangers at Penguins start at 7 pm ET on The NHL Network

Rangers at Penguins, 7 p.m. (NHL Network)

It was nice of the Flyers’ Claude Giroux to break his 2021 maiden and earn us a few bucks Thursday night, but we really wish he and his teammates could have held on for the regulation win.

Oh well, he’ll take the win.

Now, which cross-state icer would like to pick Friday night to match Giroux and get off the schneid? How about defenseman Kris Letang.

He, like G, is in a goalless run, wit just one tally over his last 20 games (including postseason) and that was in the last game before the league shut down in March.

Yes, we know he is a backliner but he does lead the Penguins in shots on goal (13) and has reached double-digit in goals seven times in 13 full seasons.

By the way, Pittsburgh has scored and allowed at least one first-period goal in all four games they have played so far. In fact, they have allowed at least two in the first 20 minutes every time out in 2021. So, it’s an easy enough choice to lay money on the Penguins and Rangers each putting a notch on their belt in the opening stanza Friday.
