NHL Playoffs Wednesday: Sharknado or Blues Brothers? Dietel picks Sharks vs Blues

Sharks (+125) at BLUES, 8:00 PM on NBCSN
Pick: SHARKS to win

The Sharks disappointingly gave up a win at home to the Blues which effectively makes this a series. They will need to steal one on the road themselves if they want a chance at Lord Stanley’s Mug this post season so what better time than the present to do that. F Logan Couture is a man on fire and cannot be stopped. In 16 playoff games this season he’s got 13 goals and 6 assists for 19 points. We would be shocked if he is held without a point of some type tonight. He is a playoff machine. In 112 playoff games played in his career he’s got 100 points (47 goals and 53 assists). Talk about a guy you want on your roster come mid-April. If the Norris trophy caliber defensemen on the team can take a step forward, yeah, we are looking at you Brent Burns and Erik Karlsson, then we think they can pull this one together. For the Sharks tonight, it’ll be more about blocked shots and shutting down lanes to stop the Blues which is doable. If they can keep the oppositions scoring to a minimum, the Sharks forward core should be able to handle the rest.
