NHL: Wednesday picks for the Devils, Rangers vs. Penguins

Penguins (21-12-6) -145 @ Rangers (17-14-7) +125 7 pm; Devils (15-16-7) +145 @ Stars (20-16-4) -170 8:35 pm

Penguins (21-12-6) -145 @ Rangers (17-14-7) +125 7 pm

Pick: Penguins Money Line -145

The scorching hot Penguins will visit the Garden tonight to play the Rangers in another Metropolitan Division showdown. Both teams have been winning as of late, the Rangers have won their last two and the Penguins have won their last 6. Some would say that it’s time for the Penguins to finally drop a game but we don’t think that’ll happen just yet. Pittsburgh has come alive in the past month and they show no signs of slowing down.

F Phil Kessel has been a powerhouse on the power play of late and already has 20 power play points on the season! Look for this game to be won or lost via the power play. The Penguins are a great bet.

Devils (15-16-7) +145 @ Stars (20-16-4) -170 - 8:35 pm

Pick: Devils Money Line +145

The Devils have been riding the hot glove of rookie G Mackenzie Blackwood who is currently in the midst of a 2-game shutout streak, the first rookie goalie in franchise history to do so. The Devils have played great defensively in front of him and have been able to get contributions from up and down the lineup in the absence of F Taylor Hall who was placed on Injured Reserve yesterday. Look for them to march into Dallas and extend their current 3-game winning streak.

The Stars hand also been playing great hockey as of late, especially after the Dallas CEO called out franchise players F Jamie Benn and F Tyler Seguin for their “total horse**** play” this season. It seems to have sparked a fire under them so they will not go down without a fight. G Ben Bishop is 7-0 against the Devils in his last 7 games against New Jersey but look for that streak to get broken tonight.
