NHL Saturday - Hurricanes  at Devils, 1 p.m.

TV: SN, MSG+, FS-CR

Hurricanes (15-16-5) -$105 @ Devils -$115 (13-16-7)

Pick: Under 5.5 (-$110)

Today’s matinee features a Metropolitan Division clash between two clubs at the bottom of the standings. Carolina is a stalwart defensive team with the likes of Dougie Hamilton, Justin Faulk, Brett Pesce and Jaccob Slavin all supporting the backend. In their last five games, the Hurricanes have only hit the Over once and have scored a division-low 91 goals on the season.

The Devils, who managed to upset the Bruins on Thursday, will still be without F Taylor Hall and F Marcus Johannson. Yes, they managed to muster up five goals without Taylor, their franchise player, but that is typically not the norm. They can win this one, we just don’t think it will be a very high-event game. Without Hall, the Devils can have trouble just entering the offensive zone. Hard to score from center ice.
