It’s an inner-divisional matchup between the 1-1 Jets and the 1-1 new-look Patriots as we head into Week 3 of play. After an injury scare last week, it looks like Jacoby Brissett will be back under center, while Aaron Rodgers will look to build off his first win in a Jets uniform against one of the better defenses in football.
The Jets are 6.5-point favorites at home, with the total sitting at 37.5 points. The total is the second-lowest in the week 3 slate, so don't expect any Thursday night fireworks. The Jets only run 52 plays per game, and the Patriots are playing at a bottom-five pace (30.7 seconds per snap).
We're building out our favorite same game parlay for Thursday night, including our two favorite player props. We're getting +550 odds on this SGP at Bet365 Sportsbook, including +100 odds on the Garrett Wilson leg!

These teams combined allowed 21.5 PPG in the first half. While this sample size is just over the last two weeks, the lack of explosive playmakers outside Breece Hall is a cause for concern.
Jerod Mayo’s defense allowed 0 first-half points to the Bengals before surrendering 17 to Seattle last week. With that being said, New England’s defense finished on a high note, only allowing 3 points in the 2nd half before their overtime defeat.
As for New York, they will be playing in front of their home crowd for the first time this season which should bring some fresh energy to Robert Saleh’s squad. He’s held NE to 3, 15, and 10 points over their last three matchups.
When New England would tear this Jets defense apart piece by piece, Stevenson would be a major factor in the receiving game. In 2 of 3 wins against New York, Rhamondre tallied 128 receiving yards on 13 catches. He is the key to the game for Mayo and this new-look Pats squad to have a chance to pull off the upset away from home.
So far this season, Stevenson has just caught 5 balls for 15 yards. With his receiving props lowered due to low usage in that area, this is the perfect time to capitalize.
With the Pats defense coming across Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, Geno Smith, DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon-Smith Njigba over the first two weeks of play, I don’t believe the Aaron Rodgers/Garrett Wilson combo will seem as daunting to them.
Although Christian Gonzalez can’t let the same mistake happen on that long DK Metcalf touchdown last week, I believe the scheme will limit this duo similarly to these teams’ last few matchups.
Wilson has only averaged 52 yards per contest against New England in four career games. While Aaron Rodgers wasn’t under center in any of these, GW’s 53rd in average target distance and 50th in yards per target out of all wide receivers, causing some concern heading into Week 3’s divisional matchup.
