LA Chargers @ Carolina Panthers: Chargers Spread -5

This one is a no-brainer. The spread for the Chargers versus the Panthers at -5 is one of the easiest takes of the Sunday schedule. Even though the Chargers will be playing in Carolina, this Panthers team has shown no sign of life. Getting demolished by the Saints and Derek Carr. Yes, the Saints are a solid team with some vets, but still, a 37-point loss in the season opener is not something you want to see. The Carolina offense had no chance to move the ball as Young continues to struggle in the pros.

Now, squaring off against a middle-of-the-road Chargers team, we don’t expect much out of the Panthers. On the other hand, the Chargers were able to edge out a win against the Raiders in week one. As expected, the change to Jim Harbaugh led to a run-first offense, with JK Dobbins having a day scoring a TD and tacking on 135 rushing yards. Early vibes with this Chargers roster seem to be good. Even though they lack the top-even offensive talent, Herbert is still a potent QB. This line feels a point or two low at 5, so jump on it before it moves.

San Fansico 49ers @ Minnesota Vikings: 49ers Spread -5

Another 5-point spread, but this time, we’re going to the Midwest, where the 9ers will take on the Vikings. This one isn’t quite as strong as the Chargers, but we believe in this 9ers team to be able to cover this one. Even with the news about Christian McCaffrey dealing with some Achilles issues, this team is still dominant on both ends of the field. Jordan Mason, the backup RB who took over for CMC, still managed to show the raw power of this offense, scoring a TD and rushing for 147 yards. With Deebo, Aiyuk, and Kittle on the outside, QB Brock Purdy should be able to move the ball against this Viking defense.

There is some argument for the Vikings, too. They won their week one matchup against the Giants. A win is a win, but the Giants aren’t exactly the pinnacle of football excellence. With replacement QB Sam Darnold heading up this offense, Aaron Jones and Justin Jefferson could pose an issue for the 9ers. Along with a defense that landed five sacks last weekend, the Vikings are certainly no pushover. However, we believe wholeheartedly that this 9ers offense will be able to at least edge out a touchdown victory regardless.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Kansas City Chiefs: Chiefs Spread -6

Rounding out our favorite picks for this weekend. We have the Chiefs taking on the Bengals. This game should be a good test for the current Super Bowl champions. Taking on a Bengals team that has floundered early in the season in back-to-back seasons. They struggled to put any points on the board against a stout Patriots defense. Regardless, another early season loss for a Bengals team is mildly concerning. With Tee Higgins still dealing with a hamstring issue, we don’t know if he’ll be active for the game or what he’ll look like. Of course, the tandem of Chase and Burrow is a deadly option, but Zach Moss struggled as the lead back after losing Joe Mixon in the off-season. The offense wasn’t the only problem, as they let the Patriots run rampant. Rhamondre Stevenson managed 120 yards and a TD on 25 carries.

Now facing a Chiefs team that just beat one of the best defenses in the league with the Ravens. This looks like a mountain to climb for the Bengals early. On the other hand, the Chiefs didn’t seem to have a Super Bowl hangover at all, with Mahomes looking crisp in the second half of the Thursday night opener. The offense looks even more dangerous, with Xavier Worthly in the mix, the first-round pick out of Texas. Overall, this match feels like it’s coming at a bad time for the Bengals, as they seem to be warming up into regular season strength. The line at -6 for the Chiefs at home feels strong. Getting it under 7 points seems like a crime. We’d say jump on it if it’s still sitting there!

LA Rams @ Arizona Cardinals: LA Rams Money Line

This might not be the most sexy pick, but we still like it. The Rams are currently sitting slightly as the underdog in this game. Following Puka Nacua’s injury, this team is less potent on offense. Though the return of healthy Cooper Kupp was great, this Rams team feels good but not great. Stafford played well in week one against the Lions, taking the game to overtime against one of the most complete rosters in the league. Losing in a nail-biter, this Rams team is full of dangerous talent that could reasonably make them a playoff team.

On the other hand, the Cards have improved significantly from last year. Kyler Murray looks healthy and played a good game against a tough Buffalo team. They kept the game close and only lost by 6 points, but overall, it was a great first look for a team that has struggled. The offense certainly has come a long way, and that didn’t even include Marvin Harrison Jr, who could have been absent for the game. He only had 3 targets for one reception for 4 yards, hardly the start you’d like to see. Regardless, the offense behind James Conner, Try McBride, and Michael Wilson has dramatically improved. However, the defense is as expected and probably won’t hold up well against a strong Rams offense. With the money line for the Rams sitting around even money, this is an excellent line to have a little money riding on.
