Mims' Thursday Night Football Picks: Bears vs Commanders, spread, over/under, Brian Robinson Jr. prop bet

After a tough road loss to the 4-0 Eagles, the Commanders look to get right at home against the 0-4 Bears.

The Chicago Bears and the Washington Commanders square off on Thursday Night Football. The Commanders are favored by 6 and the total is 44.5 The money line is Washington –260 and Bears +210.  Washington is the home team.

The line movement: The game opened at Commanders -6  and 44.5.

Coaching Match Up: Commanders Head Coach Ron Rivera over Bears Head Coach Matt Eberflus.Eberflus has lost 14 consecutive games going back to last season. Rivera is under the microscope as well but has more to work with. The Bears are giving up over 30 points per game.

Quarterback: Bears Justin Fields  over Commanders Sam Howell. Fields is a game changer with his electric running style. He has not lived up to his expected potential as a passer. Howell is more of a game manager and has been sacked 24 times in 4 games. At this pace, he will break the NFL record for sacks taken by a QB in a season.

Player Props: RB Brian Robinson Jr. over 64.5 yards The price is -123. Robinson had an impressive game against the Eagles and gained over 80 yards in that contest. Take him over against the Bears.

The consensus: Washington  has  63% of the action and the total is 59 % going over.

The Selection: The Bears are horrific on defense and have internal problems between the coaching staff and the quarterback. The Commanders are coming in off  an overtime loss to the Eagles. They are primed to take advantage of the Bears. The short turnaround favors the home team. Since Week 2, the home team has won 2 of the 3 contests. Howell will stay upright and manufacture points.  Take Washington minus the points and the over.

On Monday, I will preview the Monday Night Football featuring the Green Bay Packers vs. Las Vegas Raiders. My record on MNF is 10-1 with 1 push this season.
