Mims' Monday Night Football Picks: Eagles vs Bucs, Rams vs Bengals, with Joe Burrow questionable

Philadelphia and Tampa Bay are both undefeated, Bengals are winless.

What is better than Monday Night Football? Two games on MNF. The Philadelphia Eagles play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first game. The Eagles are favored by 5 and the total is 45. The money line is Eagles –225 and Bucs +185. Tampa Bay is the home team.

The second game has the Los Angeles Rams against the Cincinnati Bengals. Bengals are favored by 2 and the total is 43.5. The money line is Bengals -130 and  Rams +110. Cincinnati is the home team.

Quarterback: Eagles QB Jalen Hurts  over Bucs QB Baker Mayfield. Mayfield is on his 4th team in 2 seasons, so the choice is easy. In the 2nd game, Bengals QB Joe Burrow over Rams QB Matthew Stafford. Burrow is listed as questionable because of a calf injury. He is a game time call.

Trends: Rams road games have gone under in 7 of last 10 while the Bengals totals have gone over in 6 of their last 9 homes games.

The consensus: Eagles have 52% of the action and the total is 58% going with the over. Bengals and Rams are split at 50% of the action and 61% going with the over,

The Selections: The Eagles  defense will pressure Mayfield early. The offense is not clicking and will be challenged by the Bucs defense. Both teams are 2-0 but the Eagles were expected to be. The Bucs are not convincing yet. Take Eagles money line in a tight game. Game goes under. The Rams are catching the Bengals at the right time. If Burrow does not go, expect  movement in the live line to go even or Rams -2. The Bengals need the game to prevent from going 0-3 to start the season.  Grab the Rams and the under.

On Thursday Night Football, I will preview the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions. My record on TNF is 4-4 with 2 wins on the game selection and two with the player prop.
