Mims' Thursday Night Football Picks: Vikings at Eagles, Justin Jefferson prop bet, moneyline and over/under

The Eagles are favored by 7.5 and the over/under has moved down to 48.

The Philadelphia Eagles and the Minnesota Vikings square off on Thursday Night Football. The Eagles are favored by 7 and the total is 49. The money line is Eagles –260 and Vikings +210. Philadelphia is the home team.

The line movement: The game opened at Eagles -7.5  and 48.

Coaching Match Up: Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni over Vikings Head Coach Kevin O’Connell. Sirianni has improved his record every year and is coming off an NFC Championship season. This is O’Connell's first year as a head coach.

Quarterback: Eagles Jalen Hurts over Vikings Kirk Cousins. Hurts is a double threat with his arm and ability to run with the ball. Cousins has never been able to sustain a trajectory as an NFL QB and tends to make turnovers in the red zone.

Injury Report: The Eagles are entering this game with 4 players out. Kenneth Gainwell, Reed Blakenship and James Bradberry did not practice this week and will not be active. Nakobe Dean is on Injured reserve. The Vikings have Garrett Bradbury listed as out.

Player Props- Vikings Justin Jefferson over 93.5. Jefferson went over 150 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week. The Eagles defense allowed Mac Jones to throw for 316 yards. In 2022, Jefferson had 6 catches and 48 receiving yards against the Eagles. The soft middle will be a concern for the Eagles this time. The price is -110. Take Jefferson over.

The consensus: Vikings have 55% of the action and the total is 59 % going over.

The Selection: The Eagles  gutted out the win against the New England Patriots on the road on a day when Hurts was not at his best. The offense did not involve TE Dallas Goedert or RB D’Andre Swift. Cousins' record in prime-time games is 7-10 straight up and 8-9 ATS with the Vikings. Go with the Eagles money line and the under.

On Monday, I will preview the Monday Night Doubleheader featuring the New Orleans Saints vs. the Carolina Panthers. The 2nd game is the Cleveland Browns against the Pittsburgh Steelers. My record on MNF is 3-0 this season.
