Jared's Sunday NFL wild card picks: Ravens vs Titans, Bears vs Saints and Browns vs Steelers
Ravens (-3.5) TITANS (54.5)
Jared’s Pick: Ravens
Breakout Player: QB Lamar Jackson
Ryan Tannehill and the Titans unexpectedly looked great in the playoffs last year. The difference is that this year their defense is not as good. I’d expect their offense to have a fairly productive day with Derrick Henry and AJ Brown being on fire lately, but will they be able to stop Lamar Jackson? Baltimore’s offense is number one in rushing going against the 19th ranked rushing defense. A majority of these rushing yards come from Jackson. Unless Tennessee can step up their run stoppage, Baltimore should cover.
Bears (+9.5) SAINTS (47.5)
Jared’s Pick: Bears
Breakout Player: WR Michael Thomas
I don’t see New Orleans as a first round exit this week, but 9.5 is too large of a spread to cover against Chicago’s defense. Chicago has been on a great run in these last few weeks with Mitchell Trubisky at QB and David Montgomery in the running game. The Bears should keep this game close.
STEELERS (-6) Browns (47)
Jared’s Pick: Steelers
Breakout Player: WR Chase Claypool
After watching the Browns almost lose to a bunch of Pittsburgh backups, I expect the Steelers to cover. Cleveland won’t be able to do much against Pittsburgh’s starting defense. The Browns have also had a fairly easy schedule this season, so I don’t have much praise for them excluding their running game. I’m expecting a blowout.
