Mims' NFL wild card Saturday picks & props for Colts vs Bills, Rams vs Seahawks, Buccaneers vs Football Team
This is the toughest weekend to handicap football. All the good teams are left in a one and done situation. I look for who comes in hot and on a winning streak. This year you can throw out the home team factor. You cannot throw out injuries and restrictions related to COVID-19. I will give my selections along with prop bets for each game.
Colts at Bills
The Bills are favored by 6.5 over the Colts. The total is 51.5. Bills have won 6 in a row. Colts won their last regular season game to get into the playoffs. They were 5-3 on the road. A dome team playing in the cold does not do it for me. The two wins over the Texans came with Houston fumbling the ball going for game winning drive in the last two minutes.
Prop Bet is Josh Allen vs Philip Rivers. Allen to have more passing yards than Rivers is set at -167 while Rivers price is a +133. Lay the number on Allen. Allen to throw more than 2.5 TDs is set at +110. I see that going over.
Bills win by double digits and games goes over.
Rams at Seahawks
The Rams play the Seahawks for the 3rd time this season. They split the first two meetings. Seahawks are favored by -3. The total is 42. Jared Goff status is still uncertain. Russell Wilson's record in the playoffs is 9-6. He has only been eliminated in the 1st round once.
Prop Bet is Chris Carson over 14.5 attempts. Pete Carroll will rely on the running game and that will mean carries for Carson. In his last 3 games he has averaged 14 carries. The price is -112 and the play is over.
Seahawks win by 7 and total goes under. Each of the previous games the total points scored were 29 and 39. Expect the same.
Buccaneers at Football Team
Tampa Bay goes against the Washington Football Team. The line is 8 and the total is 44.5. The status of QB Alex Smith is uncertain. Tom Brady needs no introduction. Chase Young has stated he wanted to play against him. You must be careful what you wish for.
Prop Bet is the rushing total of Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones II. Fournette yards are set at 20.5 while Jones is projected at 56.5. The prices are -112 for Fournette and -118 for Jones. Expect the Bucs to control the game and the clock. Both players should go over.
Washington was close to losing to the Eagles before Nate Sudfeld made his appearance. The Bucs will win by double digits and the game goes under 44.5. A money line round robin play on the favorites will bring a small score. The number of points projected for Washington is under 17.5. The price is -124. If you find yourself down for the day this is the close out play of the day!
