Bet Monday Night Football: Brady and the Bucs play Goff and the Rams – Mims has game and prop picks

Los Angeles Rams vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 8:15 pm EST on ESPN.

The Rams are playing the Buccaneers and making their 5th road trip across country. The Rams are 6-3 and in 2nd place in the NFC West. The Buccaneers are coming off a beat down over the Panthers 46-23. They have a record of 7-3 and are in 2nd place in the NFC South.

The key numbers are Tampa -4.5. and the total is 48.

The quarterback Battle is between Tom Brady and Jared Goff. Goff has thrown 13 TDs along with 6 interceptions. Brady has thrown 23 TDs along with 7 INTs. Brady gets the edge easily. Goff has his total passing yards set at 279.5. Brady’s total is set at 300.5.

The marquee match is Aaron Donald against the offensive line of the Bucs. Brady has been sacked 14 times this season. That breaks down to an average of 1.4 per game. Donald has 9 so far this season. Four of them came in one game against Washington. He will be double-teamed and neutralized.

Prop Bets to Watch: Cooper Kupp total receptions is set at 5.5. I would lean toward under and lay -141. Rob Gronkowski receptions are set at 3.5. He had 2 in his last game. He has 29 for the year. That is an average of 2.9 for 10 games. Go under with him at -175. While both tight ends are popular players, they are not favored to go over the predicted number. Brady over Goff in the QB passing yardage matchup is a play worth considering. Brady will throw one interception. Goff will not.

Bucs are challenging for the division lead and need a win to stay within a game of the Saints. Rams would be tied with the Seahawks if they win. Rams have won 3 of their games against the NFC East. L.A. lost to Miami and Buffalo in two of the cross-country trips. Bucs are 3-1 at home. That does include the dismantling the Saints gave them two weeks ago. Bucs win tonight but do not cover. This is a spot where taking the money line at -200 and taking the 4.5 can set up a double win. Rams normally start fast so look for a first-to-score point play. Stay conservative on the number.
