In Thursday Night Football, Jared Hackmyer picks the Green Bay Packers vs the banged-up San Francisco 49ers

If you're sick of watching election results, game time is 8:20 pm ET.
Last season's San Francisco 49ers players celebrate after cornerback Richard Sherman, bottom center, intercepted a pass against the Green Bay Packers during the second half of the NFL NFC Championship football game Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, in Santa Clara, Calif. The 49ers won 37-20. They'll have a much tougher time tonight.

Packers (-5.5) 49ERS (50)

Jared’s Pick: Packers

Breakout Player: WR Davante Adams

Last week, San Francisco lost star TE George Kittle and QB Jimmy Garoppolo. Along with those two injuries, LT Trent Williams, WR Brandon Aiyuk, and WR Deebo Samuel are out for Thursday night due to being placed on the COVID-19 reserve list. This offense will be full of backups, against a very good Green Bay defense. It wouldn’t make any sense to see the 49ers run up the scoreboard.

San Francisco could be dodging a huge bullet if RB Aaron Jones ends up inactive for the third week in a row, with a calf injury. Whether Jones plays or not, QB Aaron Rodgers will likely be very active in the passing game because they won’t want to overload Jones. The 49ers’ defense has been pretty banged up all year, but they have still been one of the top defenses in the league. I have Green Bay covering this spread, but it will not be an easy win.
