Week 8 Sunday early games: Jared Hackmyer picks Ravens vs Steelers, Raiders vs Browns, Rams vs Dolphins, more

The early matchup of the day should definitely be Pittsburgh at Baltimore,

RAVENS (-3.5) Steelers (46.5)

Jared’s Pick: Ravens

Breakout Player: QB Lamar Jackson

This game consists of one of the best offenses against arguably the NFL's best defense. Pittsburgh barely beat Tennessee last week. Baltimore‘s offense is way better than Tennessee’s, and Pittsburgh will be facing a way bigger challenge on defense. With Lamar Jackson being a huge threat in the passing and running game, I have Baltimore covering.

Colts (-2.5) LIONS (50.5)

Jared’s Pick: Colts

Breakout Player: RB Jonathan Taylor

The Lions arguably should’ve lost against the Atlanta Falcons last week, but were able to drive for a score after an accidental touchdown by RB Todd Gurley. Detroit, however, will need to play a ot better to beat Indianapolis. The Colts' defense has been elite this season. Detroit is going to have be way more aggressive on offense to cover the spread. I don't see it.

PACKERS (-7) Vikings (51.5)

Jared’s Pick: Packers

Breakout Player: WR Davante Adams

Aaron Rodgers will once again be without star RB Aaron Jones. Rodgers and WR Davante Adams clicked last week against Houston without Jones, connecting for 196 yards and 2 touchdowns. Houston and Minnesota both have struggling defenses, and I don’t see the Vikings stopping Rodgers.

BILLS (-3.5) Patriots (42.5)

Jared’s Pick: Bills

Breakout Player: WR Stefon Diggs

New England has been a huge disappointment in these last three weeks and last week QBs .Cam Newton and Jarett Stidham threw four interceptions. Buffalo’s defense hasn’t been playing great, but if New England’s offense plays like they did last Sunday, Buffalo should win this game.

Titans (-5.5) BENGALS (54)

Jared’s Pick: Titans

Breakout Player: RB Derrick Henry

Tennessee lost their first game last week, against the only undefeated team left in the NFL. The Titans certainly put up a fight, only losing by a field goal, and with a chance to tie. A similar Titan effort will net them a W against the Bengals. Rookie QB Joe Burrow has put up great numbers so far, but I don’t believe he can carry this team to a win over Tennessee.

Raiders (+2.5) BROWNS (52)

Jared’s Pick: Raiders

Breakout Player: TE Darren Waller

The loss of star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is huge for Cleveland’s offense, especially after the loss of RB Nick Chubb. QB Baker Mayfield has struggled against decent defenses and with two key weapons out, he's going to have to up his game if he wants to take Cleveland to the playoffs. I think Derek Carr, Josh Jacobs, and Darren Waller will win this game for Las Vegas, with Cleveland’s defense letting up an absurd amount of yards and points.

CHIEFS (-19.5) Jets (48.5)

Jared’s Pick: Chiefs

Breakout Player: WR Tyreek Hill

The winless Jets have not been a fun team to watch. Now, they have to face the defending Super Bowl Champions, who are playing like it at 6-1. it’s hard to imagine New York having any success on either side of the ball on Sunday. Kansas City‘s offense and defense have been playing at an elite level and the Chiefs can definitely cover the spread if they show no mercy.

Rams (-3.5) DOLPHINS (46)

Jared’s Pick: Rams

Breakout Player: WR Robert Woods

With rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa making his debut, this is a tough game to figure, but L.A.’s tough defense is a tough one to face in your first start. The Rams have been a huge threat in the passing and running game, which may be too much for Miami’s defense. Based on how both teams have been playing, I have the Rams covering the spread.
