Jared Hackmyer's Monday Night Football pick is for the Saints vs Chargers – Can Justin Herbert lead San Diego through the air?

Monday Night Football starts at 8:15 pm EDT.

SAINTS (-5.5) Chargers (50.5)

Jared’s Pick: Saints

Breakout Player: RB Alvin Kamara

With WR Michael Thomas inactive, the Saints offense could have a rough night against L.A.’s defense. New Orleans’ has been heavily reliant on their star RB Alvin Kamara and I’d expect another big game from him. The Saints could be getting TE Jared Cook, one of their bigger weapons, back tonight, but as of now, he is questionable with a groin injury. If New Orleans can continue to put up 30 points per game, they can definitely steal this game.

Without star RB Austin Ekeler, I’d expect rookie Chargers QB Justin Herbert to have a busy night on offense. WR Keenan Allen and TE Hunter Henry could be in for a big night if L.A. decides to keep the ball in the air. In just three games, Justin Herbert has thrown for almost 1,000 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. Even though the Chargers currently have a record of 1-3, Herbert has looked good for a rookie QB who had to step in last minute, and this offense definitely has the weapons to move the ball down the field against the Saints defense.
