Bet the NFL Draft: Eckel picks his favorite individual players bets including "Where will Jalen Hurts get drafted?"

The NFL Draft’s first round is scheduled to take place in less than four weeks (April 23) and potential wagers have begun to pop up everywhere.

Over the next few days we’ll look at some of the more interesting ones and of course throw in our opinions on which ones are worth a buck, or three.

Today is where individual players may land in the draft.

Who will be the 2nd QB Drafted?

Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama: 2-7

Justin Herbert, Oregon: 11-4

Jordan Love, Utah St.: 10-1

Field: 16-1

Bet: Tua is the obvious choice and thus the short odds. Love is rising, however, and might be worth a buck a 10-1.

Who will be the 1st WR Drafted?

CeeDee Lamb, Oklahoma 5-6

Jerry Judy, Alabama, 5-4

Henry Ruggs, Alabama 7-5

Bet: Pass on this one, it’s to worth it to guess as such short odds.

Who will be the 1st RB Drafted?

D’Andre Swift, Georgia 4-5

Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin, 4-6

J.K. Dobbins, Ohio State, 8-1

Field, 8-1

Bet: Swift is the right answer, so if you don’t mind the short odds load up on him.

Who will be the 1st OL Drafted?

Tristan Wirfs, Iowa: 9-5

Jedrick Wills, Alabama: 9-4

Mekhi Becton, Louisville: 9-4

Andrew Thomas, Georgia: 8-1

Field: 10-1

Bet: This is interesting, because Thomas is the best of a strong group, but a lot of people like Wirfs. There’s a good chance the Giants, with the 4th pick, are the first team to take an offensive lineman so maybe “Field’’ is a good bet.

Where will Chase Young get drafted?

Over 2/12 pick: +250

Under 2 1/2 pick: -400

Bet: He should go No. 1, but I’ll be shocked if he gets past Washington at No. 2. But I don’t like betting -400.

Where will Tua Tagovailoa get drafted?

5th pick: 6-5

3rd pick: 7-2

2nd pick: 4-1

6th pick: 5-1

4th pick: 8-1

Any other pick: 8-1

Bet: If there are no trades the 5th pick (Miami) is the winner. But Detroit (3rd) and Giants (4th) might look to scare the Dolphins into a trade.

Where will Jalen Hurts get drafted?

Round 2: 3-2

Round 3: 7-4

Round 4-7: 9-4

Round 1: 7-1

Bet: Hurts is one of my favorite players in this draft and he will be better than some QBs drafted ahead of him (Herbert, for one). I might put a small wager on Round 1 a 7-1. But that’s me. The smarter bet would be Round 3.
