Mims looks at sports betting’s new normal: In NFL Win Futures, how much will Tom Brady help the Bucs

Brady certainly isn't throwing 30 interceptions like Winston did.

This is the 2nd week of the new normal. So much time and very little to bet on if you focus on the professional leagues and NCAA the way I do. There are other sports betting options that you can consider filling the void.

I am looking at future bets as the way to get action and stay in the game. I would look at the NFL win totals for the upcoming season. You should go to the NFL.com and review each team’s schedule. I normally would suggest just 2 or 3 teams, but I know you have time on your hands. Do your own projection as to how many wins you think a team will have. Compare your number to the listed over and under of your favorite sports betting app. If you hit the number that is posted then you have projected that team correctly.

The prop bet of Tampa Bay and New England and who would have the most wins caught my interest. The signing of Tom Brady makes the Bucs relevant as a future bet. Bucs won seven games in 2019. Four of their losses were by 6 points or less. Tampa had the 12th ranked strength of schedule in 2019.

Jameis Winston threw 30 interceptions last year. Tom Brady threw 8. Adding Brady should increase this win total by at least 2. The uncertainty as to who will be the quarterback of the Patriots gives the Bucs value in this prop.
