HOUSTON +4½ at Baltimore

In a matchup of dynamic young QBs, I’m going with the numbers on this one. Here’s what they say: Ravens have only covered 2 of their last 10 at home, while Texans are 6-2 in their last 8 as a ‘dog. Houston has faced better competition this season (Baltimore has feasted on Dolphins, Cards and twice against Bengals) and could win this one outright, which makes points a bargain.

ATLANTA +4½ at Carolina

Conventional wisdom seems to be that Panthers will rebound after heartbreaker at Green Bay and easily take care of Falcons team coming back to earth after surprise drubbing of Saints. But Carolina is 1-5 SU against Atlanta in last 6, with the lone win by 3 points in 2017. Like improving Falcs to make it a game.

New Orleans - 5½ at TAMPA BAY

Bucs certainly are no world-beaters, but they seem to be able to hang around in almost every game before finding a way to blow it (or blow the cover, like last week vs. Cardinals). Saints good on road (9-3) but Tampa Bay is 7-1 last 8 as home ‘dog. These division foes have split games in recent years and Saints won first meeting, so ...

NEW ENGLAND -4 at Philadelphia

Patriots get even for SB LII against banged-up Eagles team that has covered last 2 but was 2-5 ATS before that. Loss at Baltimore two weeks ago snapped 4-0 ATS run for Pats, and have to figure ‘D’ bounces back against Wentz and butter-fingered WR corps.
