The Montreal Expos would be thrilled with this Super Bowl, and those who used to be part of the extinct baseball franchise’s evaluation process certainly are, even all these years later. Gone from the game for nearly 15 years, the former club has ties to both quarterbacks in Sunday’s NFL championship game. The Expos traded for Jared Goff’s father, Jerry, nearly three decades ago. Super Bowl Aftermath: What does the football-only fan do now?

Plan for the Draft, plan a road trip for next season, breathe.

If you had the correct side in the game, I am happy for you. You can revel for weeks in the fact that your team won or that you successfully picked the winner. Now . . . For the people that were not as good as you or your team just didn’t get to the big game, you are wondering what to do. How can you fill the void of going through 6 months without NFL football games?

One way is to replace that viewing time with some binge or marathon viewing of a show that you want to catch up on. Another is spending those Sundays going to an afternoon movie and catch up on the new releases and Oscar nominees. The project that you have put off for months can fit into this time period.

If the above-mentioned remedies don't do it for you and only NFL will then put these thoughts into play. I would look at ESPN and follow some of the top college analyst to see who the top players are. Have some of your friends over and determine which one fits for your team and where your team is drafting.

I would look and listen to talk shows that give information about potential free agents and if that person could help your team or scheme. I would check out the upcoming season schedule and plan a road trip to follow your team. If you plan this early, you can determine who wants to go along and how much it will cost. If you tackle any two of the things I suggested, you will find yourself at OTA junction or Organized Team Activity. Incorporate two more and you will arrive at Mini Camp. Now you are ready for some football!
