Green (18) reacting after an apparent injury in the first half of an NFL football game against the Denver Broncos, in Cincinnati. Injuries are never an excuse. Not for players. Not for coaches. And not for fans. Still, the NFL teams that have the most success almost always keep their best players on the field. For some teams such as Atlanta, Jacksonville and Cincinnati, injuries were a factor in derailing their seasons. (AP Photo/Frank Victores, File)

NFL Sunday - Bengals at Steelers, 4:25 p.m.

Pick: Bengals +14.5

This line opened at 17 and was quickly driven down to 14 or below at some books. Steelers have shown they can light it up (ask Atlanta and Carolina), but those games were eons ago. Don’t see them hitting the same heights here with James Conner and Antonio Brown gimpy, and especially with one eye on the scoreboard - particularly if that scoreboard shows the Ravens pulling away from the Browns. Bengals are 3-0 ATS in their last three road games against non-slouches Baltimore, the Chargers and Cleveland, with QB Jeff Driskel at the helm for the last two and A.J. Green a non-factor in all three. The Bengals are like the car wreck you can’t turn away from - but for goodness sake, please try. Take the huge points in this game and go mow the lawn, shovel the driveway, whatever.
