NRL throws up record spread, as unbeaten Penrith hosts 1-10 Canterbury

Have you ever known a team is going to get annihilated, and you just place a wager on the game to see if you can beat a crazy spread?

That is what is going to happen tonight in the NRL, as top of the ladder Penrith, which comes in at 11-0 and on a rampage, hosts bottom of the ladder Canterbury.

The numbers for Penrith are staggering, especially of late: the Panthers have scored 364 points, and allowed just 84, which equates to 7.6 per contest. They beat a good Rabbitohs team 56-12 last week, won 48-12 in Week 10, and blanked the Sharks 48-0 in Week 9.

Canterbury has only scored 130 points in its 11 games (11.8), and there is a distinct possibility that the Bulldogs could get shut out tonight.

It really comes down to what the Panthers want to do once they take the lead.

Personally, I like the challenge, and will back the hosts to cover a huge line.

The game is 1 a.m. overnight in the East (bet it Friday).
