Bet Australia NRL Rugby Week 3: Miller picks Penrith vs Melbourne, South Sydney vs Sydney, Newcastle vs Wests
NRL Week 3 schedule has four top 10 battles on tap, including Grand Final rematch
Well, we did not have to wait very long to get a rematch of the thrilling 2020 NRL Grand Final.
On October 25, 2020, Melbourne stormed out to a 22-0 lead at the break, then had to hold on for dear life in the second half as Penrith clawed back into the game over the final 12 minutes. But the Storm held on for a 26-20 victory, to win their second title in four years.
This year, Melbourne comes Thursday encounter off a 16-12 loss to Parramatta, while the Panthers sit behind the rampaging Roosters (86 points in two games). Penrith has yet to allow a point in two matches (24-0 over Cowboys, 28-0 over Bulldogs), and will come in with some revenge on the docket.
This is a fantastic game to open the week, and provides very good betting value: both teams are -105.
Sydney will take on the Bunnies what looks to be the best match of the Friday slate. South Sydney has split two games so far.
Saturday has three games to pick from, and two of them have big favorites (eyes light up) that you might be able to back on the score bands bets.
Finally, Sunday has two matches, with Newcastle taking on a Wests team that got demolished last week and might be the team to fade each time it plays.
And remember, the games are overnight here in America, so Thursday’s game has to be bet Wednesday before you go to bed, unless you are up at 4:30 a.m. (there is a 4:30 a.m.?)
