In early Friday action, Miller picks Western Bulldogs vs Collingswood Magpies — both teams start the 2020 AFL season with hope of title

Western and Collingswood are both projected to finish in the top eight in this abbreviated season.

While Richmond and GWS, the two AFL Grand Finalists from last season, come into the 2020 Australian Rules Football season with much of the fanfare, Western and Collingswood are both projected to finish in the top eight in this abbreviated season.

The Bulldogs, though, could be a surprise team this season. Despite having the seventh-best odds to win the title (+1200) coming into the season, many experts are projecting them to finish in a top four ladder spot, with Ben Dixon picking them to finish second behind Richmond.

But Collingswood is also highly rated, as the third favorite (+700) preseason behind the two Grand Finalists last season. Both teams were knocked out by GWS in the finals series last season, but Collingswood fell just short.

This contest should be a toss up, and the odds show that. If you think this match will be close, one betting strategy could be to take both teams to win by 24 points or less, with Western +215 and Collingswood +220, and either way, you win.
