Rhode Island mistakenly bet the over
According to GoLocalProv, when the state added projected sports betting revenue into the state budget it used the wrong estimate, Now they've got a hole way bigger than a duffer's divot and no sand to fill it.
The American Gaming Association said: “We prove the value of the gaming industry through compelling research that supports best-in-class communications tools to inform policymakers and regulators. In addition, we elevate responsible gaming as a signature industry priority."
"Our research presented several possible combinations of tax rates and sports betting availability. Under the scenario closest to what Rhode Island implemented, we estimated that Rhode Island would generate $6.4 million in sports betting gaming tax revenue, $17.1 million less than the state projected," said AGA's Caroline Ponseti, the director, media relations in a statement to GoLocal.
Whoops. If only Rhode Island had put the revenue they were getting on Tiger Woods to win the Masters.

Wednesday Results
We had another so-so day picking team sports, but Neal Abrams navigated a 4-3 day on the tricky clay surface of Monte Carlo -- betting matches on clay is something only for the most confident tennis bettors. The horse racing fellas had another good day: Chris Garrity won two of his five race picks and RT picked the card at Indiana Grand and chose four winners.
