Welcome to Rivalry Week in college football! In this betting guide, we'll preview the iconic Arkansas vs. Missouri matchup. Get all the info you need! Best of luck, and we hope you and your family had a fantastic Thanksgiving!
Oddsmakers opened this line Missouri -4.5, but a steady stream of Arkansas money has sent the number down to Missouri -3.5 at the time of this writing. This is a rivalry game, so getting plus points must seem like a good idea to the wise guys in the industry.
The total hasn't seen nearly as much action as the side. The number opened up at 54.5 and that's where it still sits at most online sportsbooks. There are a couple of shops dealing 54 if you want to bet on the Over.
Okay, I'm going to get a little biased on you. I love Sam Pittman and think he's arguably the best personality in college football. How can you not like a good ol' boy coach who just wants to celebrate with an "old cold beer" after a big Razorbacks win? Pittman always gets the best out of his players!
Arkansas is just 6-5 but they've played a tough schedule all year long. The Hogs beat Tennessee back in early October for one of their best wins in program history. They also put up a good fight against Texas in a 10-point loss.
The Razorbacks a much better offense than people realize. They rank 24th in yards per pass thanks to the big right arm of Taylen Green, who has thrown for 2,584 yards this season. Ja'Quinden Jackson does a good job on the ground, as he's run for 703 yards and 12 TDs.
This Missouri Tigers squad is tough to figure out. They have a pretty impressive record at 8-3 but blowout losses to Alabama and Texas A&M show that they have plenty of weaknesses. Brady Cook has played through some tough injuries to still throw for over 2,000 yards.
Cook leads an offense that has a dynamic group of receivers. Luther Burden and Theo Wease Jr. may be the best wideout duo in the conference. The two have combined for 111 catches and 9 receiving TDs.
Mizzou's defense has been their downfall this season. They do a great job on 3rd down, but most of their other metrics are quite ugly to look at. The Tigers rank 69th at defending the run and 85th against the pass.
I jumped on this bad boy on Monday morning at +4.5 but I like it as long as we're getting at least a field goal. I respect Missouri, but I love getting points with an Arkansas team that has the better overall defense.
While both QBs will have some success in this game, I think Taylen Green will pick apart this Missouri secondary. I also don't see Mizzou getting any traction with its ground game. Wooo Pig Souie!
Prediction: Arkansas 27 - Missouri 23
