Welcome to Super Tuesday, fellow sports investors! Monday was kind to us on the college hardwood, as our player props went a respectable 2-1 to run our record to 6-4 on the young season. Dylan Harper and Dawson Garcia easily went Over their point totals to ensure a winning evening. Our lone loser was on Tae Davis, who manhandled the BC defense to crush our Under.
Let's shoot for 2-1 or better once again tonight. Here are my three best college hoops player props for Tuesday, January 14. Good luck, folks!
Villanova at Xavier: 6:30 PM EST (FS1)
Is anyone else still shocked that the sportsbooks continue to make Poplar's point total so low? Shhhh, don't talk about it too loudly! They may catch on! While teammate Eric Dixon gets the majority of the hype, Poplar has quietly become one of the hottest players in college hoops.
Just how hot is the former Miami star? He's gone over this total in five straight ball games! Villanova has to be thrilled that they picked this kid up in the transfer portal over the offseason. Did you know that he didn't start playing organized basketball until he was 16?
Poplar shoots the 3 pretty well and he has no fear of driving the lane to get a tough basket. I'm expecting another solid performance from him this evening, especially since Xavier ranks just 190th at defending the three-ball. Give me the Over!
Villanova at Xavier: 6:30 PM EST (FS1)
Here's another number that just looks way too low at first glance. Conwell is one of Xavier's most consistent scorers, as his median point total is 17 this season. Like Poplar, Conwell also shoots the rock well from downtown.
His long-distance skills should serve him well against a Nova squad that ranks an abysmal 271st at defending the three. I also like that Conwell typically plays at least 32 minutes, so he should get lots of field goal attempts.
Conwell is 11-6 to the Over vs. this line in '24-25.
He's scored 15 points or more in 6 of his last 9 outings.
Conwell has gone Over this line in 6 of his 10 home games this year.
Illinois at Indiana: 7:00 PM EST (Peacock)
We might as well play another scary Under to wrap up the Tuesday card! Bello is a beast underneath the rim, so I'm sure a lot of folks will think I've lost my mind with this play. Don't worry, I've lost it before!
In all seriousness, I think Bello has a tough matchup on his hands tonight, even at home. Illinois is one of the top defensive teams in the land and they'll probably double-team Bello as much as they can.
Even when they don't double Bello, 7'1" Tomislav Ivisic will be guarding him. The season-long metrics also favor an Under. Bello has scored 15 points or fewer in 10 of his 16 ball games this season. He's been on a tear of late, but his median point total is still just 12.5. Give me the Under!
