Virginia Tech Hokies at Virginia Cavaliers, 9 pm Eastern

The Pick: Virginia Tech +1.5 (-109), bet $10.90 to win $10; over 118.5 (-107), bet $10.70 to win $10

Virginia Tech is 31 in the Pomeroy, has the 38th-best adjusted offense in the country, and averages 70.5 points per game. They’ve lost two in a row, but one was to Duke and the other to an underrated N.C. State. The Hokies are 0-3 in ACC play and need this game badly. Virginia is 63rd in the Pomeroy and continues to look unimpressive to this eye. Their adjusted pace is slow but their defense is not what it used to be. I expect the Hokies to be up tonight’s game and to steal a win on the road. I like the over because both teams would have to hold the other to their average points allowed for the total to stay under 118.5, and I don’t think both teams will do that.
