This teaser takes not common opponents, but “will be common opponents,” into account. UMBC beat Columbia by 38 points on Dec. 1. Princeton hasn’t played Columbia yet, but when Ivy League play starts, do we really think the Tigers will beat them by 40? I’m not sure why UMBC is getting 6.5 points to start here. The Retrievers play the 47th fastest adjusted tempo in college ball, while Princeton is 222nd. I think UMBC runs the Tigers ragged, and even if Princeton wins, I’ll take double-digit points. Pairing them with Boston College, who’s playing at home against the 321st ranked team in Pomeroy. B.C. isn’t a great team, but they’re flirting with the top 100, so bringing that spread down to ten should be enough to get home.
