The Pick: Columbia +21.5 (-114), bet $11.40 to win $10; under 150.5 points (-110), bet $11 to win $10

Simply put, it’s too many points - both for Colgate to be laying and for the total. Colgate has one game where they won by more than 15, and it was against Polytechnic University, who (no joke) doesn’t have a logo on ESPN’s app. Their second-biggest win was against Syracuse, true - but the Orangemen ain’t exactly setting the world on fire yet. As for the total, adding up the two teams’ average points scored per game, you get fewer than 150. Adding up the two teams’ average points allowed per game, that’s fewer than 150. Colgate is 132nd in the Pomeroy rankings and I’m not sure why, frankly. I think this spread is a clear-cut case of bias against the Ivy League. Tonight, Columbia needs to strike a blow towards justice for its conference.
