O'Sullivan's Black Friday ACC, Ivy Pick: Columbia Lions at Boston College Eagles, with BC a heavy favorite

Columbia Lions at Boston College Eagles, 2 pm Eastern.

A good rule of gambling-thumb: don’t risk doubling your losses on a subset of your bankroll by trusting a school best known for Michael Irvin.

Seattle O’Sullivan 2021-2022 ACC season so far: 4-10, -$137.70

Seattle O’Sullivan 2021-2022 Ivy League season so far: 6-6 +$13.75

The Pick: Boston College -16.5 (-115)

Combining the ACC and the Ivy League for my pick today, I’m taking Boston College at home, where they’re 4-1 against the spread in their last five games. The Eagles have also won seven of their last eight against Ivy League opponents. Columbia has been scoring 75.6 points per game, but against weak competition, and B.C.’s defense only allows 62.0 points per game, so the Lions should have more difficulty scoring today. Columbia just lost to Lehigh, and while Boston College might not be Gonzaga, they’re not Lehigh. The spread going down from 17.5 to 16.5 overnight helps my decision, here.
