OK, let’s try a few teasers tonight, as we wait for most of the conference tourneys to really get going.
Let’s start with the Patriot League final. I’ll take Colgate -2 at home to Boston University. Colgate won both meetings this season, each rather comfortably. I don’t know if that means the Raiders will cover the seven, but I’m fairly confident they can handle the deuce. And with that I’ll try Minnesota -3 to Northwestern in the Big Ten in Indianapolis. I know Minny has been all over the place, and NW just beat slumping Penn State at home in the regular-season finale, but I have to think the Gophers can get the W in this spot. And I don’t think asking them to get that by a field goal is too much.
In the other, I’ll try Boston College +15 against Notre Dame in the ACC in North Carolina. I know BC isn’t much, but the two games this year were both 1-pointers (they split). Knowing me that just means the Irish will now win this by about 100, but we’ll take that chance. It might not be too close but 15 just sounds like a lot for ND. And we’ll pair that with Xavier giving DePaul 1.5 in the Big East. Again, I’m not thrilled with X. But I’m much less thrilled with DePaul. The line seems light, which I suppose should be telling me something. Yet I’m not smelling an outright upset. Just hope it’s not just a 1-point victory.
