Kern's hoops teasers mix Indiana at Purdue, Wisconsin at Michigan, Ohio St. at Nebraska, Illinois at Northwestern (plus Temple & the Sixers)

Let’s try a couple of Big Ten teasers.

First, we’ll go with Indiana +11 at Purdue. The home team has lost four straight, since a 12-point win at Indy. I think Boilermakers could make it a sweep, but maybe not by double digits again. We’ll pair that with Michigan -1.5 against visiting Wisconsin. Wolves have won their last five, and I’m looking for that streak to at least continue. Just not sure if they’ll cover the touchdown or not. But now that’s no longer my concern. That’s how it is when you’re moving the lines around.

We’ll also go with Illinois just to win at Northwestern, which hasn’t won since Jan. 11 home or away. And also take Ohio State laying 3.5 at Nebraska, which hasn’t won anywhere since Jan. 7. I know, this is probably the night both the home teams finally figure it out.

If any of those picks don’t excite you enough, I would also think about taking Wichita State at home -3.5 against Temple. Wichita has only lost twice at its place, and it lost at Temple by a dozen. Owls just lost at East Carolina. They might be able to keep it close for awhile, but I don’t seem them staying within a field goal in this spot.

Hey, if you really want to get crazy and truly have faith you could take Wichita with the Sixers laying 1.5 in South Philly over the Knicks. Hey, they’ve lost twice at home. I know they’ll be without their two best players, but after that wretched effort at Cleveland I’m expecting them to at least get another W in their building. Process that, as the true believers keep saying. And you know who you are.
