Mims: 7 Players to watch in the NCAA Tournament

You might not know all of them but they each have star potential

I found seven players that I want to see play in the NCAA tournament. You might not know all of them but they each have star potential. These players will make you want to watch them compete. If their respective teams win in the opening round each of them will have something to do with it.

Zion Williamson is the most dominating player in the tournament. He is projected to be the number 1 pick in the NBA draft. He is must watch TV.

Phil Booth is the local guy that we want to root for. Villanova may not have enough for a deep run, but Booth can be dominant in the big-time moments. Two of the last 3 National Championships are part of his resume.

Ethan Happ is a walking double double machine from Wisconsin. If you add that to his team having 4 consecutive Sweet Sixteen appearances, you will enjoy watching his senior leadership.

Corey Davis is a guard on the high scoring Houston Cougars. Davis averages 16.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists. He is a big shot maker and solid on ball defender.

Rui Hachimura is considered a lottery pick by most NBA scouts. Since he plays for Gonzaga and their non-conference schedule is not overwhelming, this may be the 1st time you have seen him play. You will remember him.

Naz Reid is a dominating forward with a good jump shot from LSU. He can dunk on anyone and shoot from 3-point range. Naz averages 13.7 points and 7.2 rebounds. I am not looking for a extended run from the Tigers so enjoy Naz for a moment.

PJ Washington leads Kentucky in points and rebounds. He averages 14 points and 7.6 boards. While this is not the most talented Wildcat team in the past 5 years, Washington is a force that is part of the opposing team scouting report as the man to stop.

Follow me on Twitter thru out the tournament for updates. My next post will be coverage of the Sixers and Celtics game in Philly. I am going to the game so I can share with you what the intensity of two rivals feels like.
