NCAAB: Monday NYE Teaser

Our Saturday pick was so bad, we’re going to try to make it up to you today with two options on the same games. At the Palestra, Penn (10-3) is returning from a Saturday blowout loss in Toledo with 2/3 of of its three rotating frontcourt players unlikely to play due to injury. Monmouth (0-12) has been resting, is desperate for a win, and nearly beat Yale at home and Princeton on the road. Not saying they’re going to get that win today, but it’s a big trap game for Penn with Princeton looming on Saturday. Giving Monmouth our teaser points and making them +19 seems like the play. We’re pairing them up with Vanderbilt (8-3), making them -23. The Commodores have been pounding weaker teams and the UNC-Asheville Bulldogs (2-11) -- coming off a 17-point loss to non-D1 Fayetteville St. on Saturday -- are a weaker team.

If you’d like to play the teaser as an over/under, both games are 135. We love Monmouth-Penn under 140, and kinda like UNC-Asheville vs. Vanderbilt over 130, thinking the game will be something like 95-55.
