Can Jalen Duren and the Pistons even up the series on Sunday against the Knicks?

It’s been an old-school battle between the Knicks and Pistons in this Round 1 Eastern Conference series. New York has been unable to stop Cade Cunningham, while the Pistons have failed to contain New York’s shooters as well as KAT in Game 3.

With a 3-1 series lead on the line for the Knicks, expect Detroit to attack the paint with force, but this time, instead of Duren and Cunningham looking to score, the Pistons will utilize their elite perimeter ball movement to keep this game tight.

Mikal Bridges (NYK) 2+ Threes

Bridges has finally gotten hot from downtown over the Knicks' last two games, knocking down 6 triples in 17 attempts. The star swingman has played close to 40 minutes over these last two outings.

With the Knicks' bench just absolutely depleted of weapons, Mikal will need to put up 3s for New York to have a chance to go up 3-1 on Detroit.

The Nova Knick has been extremely comfortable in transition 3s off a long rebound, and that trend should continue tonight with Detroit putting up a lot of 3s and at times, settling for some poor shots that lead to a quick New York transition.

Jalen Duren (DET) OVER 2.5 Assists

Jalen Duren had a quiet 16 points and 8 boards on Thursday night. The Knicks' defense has done a solid job of collapsing on the young big man, who, at times, is extremely skilled at finding the open shooter when doubled down low.

JD has gone for 3/2/3 dimes in this series and throughout the regular season, his average is 2.7. After a low-scoring Game 2 where neither team could get anything to fall from behind the arc, I’m expecting both the assist and 3-point numbers to rise on Sunday night in this critical Game 4.

Duren has now gone 3 of 7 on this prop against New York, including the regular season. In a game where Tobias Harris and Malik Beasley should shoot the ball better, take JD to hit this prop.

Best Bet: OVER 217 Points

235/194/234. This series has gone back and forth between both teams being able to knock down tough shots and a Game 2 where it seemed like the New York Knicks couldn’t buy a bucket for long stretches in the second half.

Sunday night, we are taking the over for this game. Malik Beasley and Tobias Harris have enough experience to adapt after their poor Game 3 outings, while New York, with their less-than-ideal bench rotation, has struggled to stop Detroit from going on runs because of foul trouble and fatigue, especially around the end of the 3rd quarter.

In three Knicks at Pistons games this season, including Game 3’s tight matchup, this over has hit. Stick to this trend on Sunday night in what should be a tight matchup.
