The final games before the NBA All-Star break will tip off on Thursday night, a slate that features five contests for fans to watch before this weekend’s festivities.
The featured contest will be a primetime matchup on TNT with the Oklahoma City Thunder visiting the Minnesota Timberwolves, which could determine the seventh seed in the Western Conference.
With only a handful of games to watch, which player matchups should bettors observe for Thursday, February 13th? We’ll cover that with our top four NBA player prop bets for tonight.
The addition of Jimmy Butler has been positive for Warriors point guard Steph Curry. The 36-year-old guard now has a strong scoring threat opposite him, keeping Golden State’s opponents from targeting Curry defensively.
Butler’s addition freed up Curry to take even more three-point shots than he had previously. In February, he’s firing off nearly 16 long-range attempts on average, but hitting only 33 percent of those shots.
Tonight, the Warriors face the Houston Rockets, and both teams need a win to improve their standings in the Western Conference. Expect Curry to continue bombing three-pointers, and he’ll cover this player prop bet by hitting at least five trifectas on Thursday.
Minnesota has been an enigma this season, the Jekyll and Hyde of the NBA. After a rough start, the Timberwolves had won eight of 10 games to push their record above .500, but now Minnesota is riding a two-game losing streak into tonight’s game against Oklahoma City.
The up-and-down season isn’t squarely on Anthony Edwards’ shoulders. Coming into tonight’s contest, he’s averaging 27.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per night. Edwards has become even more of a focus for this offense with Julius Randle’s absence.
In Minnesota’s only contest this season against the Thunder, Edwards was held to 20 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Tonight, with more onus on the shooting guard, expect him to finish close to his season averages but ultimately fall short of the combo prop bet.
Miami has not succeeded without Butler, dropping their past three outings. Tonight, the Heat will travel to Dallas, facing off against a Mavericks team that has had several weeks to prepare for life without Luka Doncic – and now, Anthony Davis, at least for the foreseeable future.
Center Bam Adebayo has been Miami’s most consistent player. The 6-foot-9 star is averaging 23 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per night in his increased role. He’s pulled down double-figure rebounding totals in four of his team’s six games this month, giving bettors confidence to take the over on this rebounding prop bet for Thursday.
The Los Angeles Clippers started the season without small forward Kawhi Leonard, limping to a 19-15 record before his first action this season. In Leonard’s absence, the Clippers leaned on Norman Powell, who is pouring in a career-best 23.8 points per game this season.
It was surprising – to say the least – that the Clippers did not turn to 35-year-old shooting guard James Harden to score more points. Through his first 50 games, Harden is averaging 21.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 8.6 assists per game for Los Angeles.
In three games without Leonard since his return, the Clippers’ offense did not revolve around Harden. He scored below 20 points each night as the team went 1-2 during those games. Expect Los Angeles to win tonight’s game against
