NBA Best Bets and Player Prop Picks for Monday, April 1

With March Madness on a break until the Final Four games this Saturday, we turn our attention back to the NBA. Here is our betting preview for tonight's 6-game slate.

The Monday night NBA slate is far from the best we've seen this season, with some massive double-digit favorites, and only one headline-worthy game. Nevertheless, our team has picked through the entire slate to identify a best bet and 4 player prop picks.

Here are the opening odds for the full Monday night NBA slate:

  • Boston (-17.5) at Charlotte - Total: 219.5

  • Memphis at Detroit (-1.5) - Total: 216.5

  • Brooklyn at Indiana (-12.5) - Total: 227.5

  • Portland at Orlando (-16.5) - Total: 210.5

  • Atlanta at Chicago (-2.5) - Total: 222

  • Phoenix at New Orleans - Total: 223.5

Best Bet: Atlanta at Chicago Over 222

Two of the better over teams in the NBA over the past month are set to square off on Monday, and we're betting there will be little-to-no defense in this one.

The total has gone over in 7 straight Hawks games, and 7 out of the last 10 Bulls games. Vegas can't win for trying, they opened with a total of 225 points, it's been bet down to 222, and now we are sending the public back to the window to bet the over.

The Hawks are the side that is really intriguing here, as only 1 of their last 9 games has stayed under this number of 222. For the Bulls, 10 of their last 13 games have played to a total over 222 points.

F Kevin Durant (PHX): Over 35.5 PRA

With this game bound to become a slower-paced affair against two teams battling to avoid a play-in game, look for KD’s PRA total to hit against the Pelicans. KD averaged over 10 rebounds + assists in March while hitting this PRA total against top-notch squads such as Denver, Boston,  and Cleveland.

With New Orleans and familiar face Willie Green due to focus more of their defensive attention on Devin Booker (over 100 points against NOP over the last two games), expect Durant to take advantage of one-on-one coverage.

G Jalen Suggs (ORL): Over 19.5 PRA

After a fantastic March where Jalen averaged about 13 PPG on 43.5% shooting from deep, look for the Orlando guard to hit his PRA mark in a potential blowout victory against Portland tonight.

Suggs has hit this mark in two straight games while becoming more of a playmaker post All Star break, averaging 3.3 assists in the last month. Portland won’t have an answer for the red-hot guard.

F Pascal Siakam (IND): Under 34.5 PRA

Siakam’s PRA total is a bit too heavy for us to trust against Bridges and Claxton tonight. Although the big put together a solid game against the Lakers on Friday, he tends to struggle on two days of rest averaging just 55% total shooting on 23 PPG.

With Brooklyn’s defense slowly improving and Claxton acting as a rim protector down low, Siakam will struggle to reach 35 PRA tonight in what should be a close contest.

G Cam Thomas (BKN): Over 2.0 3PM

Looking at the same matchup, Cam Thomas should have his way against an offensive-minded Pacers backcourt. Cam has hit this mark in three straight outings while shooting the deep ball at a 39% clip in March.

While Indiana allows the least 3-pointers made in the league this season, Thomas’s 6 3PA against Eastern conference squads should stay true today. In which case, this number should hit at least two. In their first matchup this season, Cam went 2/6 in a 21-point loss.
