Best Bet: Oklahoma City -1.5

There were plenty of betting trends that caught our eye tonight. The Mavs have covered the spread in 8 of their last 9 games, the total has gone over in 6 of the last 8 Lakers games, and the Thunder have covered in 7 of their last 10 games against the Pelicans.

Oklahoma City travels to New Orleans to take on the Pelicans, but they have won outright in their last 2 visits to the Big Easy. This follows a season-long trend for the Pelicans, who have a better record on the road than they do at home.

It's never easy betting road favorites, but it's worth noting that OKC is 40-13 as a favorite this season, while New Orleans is just 14-12 as an underdog. The Pelicans have managed to win their past 2 games without Brandon Ingram, but we think they miss his scoring tonight and OKC covers the 1.5-point spread.

G Jalen Williams (OKC): Under 25.5 PRA

JDub has been an elite performer for the Thunder this season, exceeding most expectations as a 2nd-year player. However, this matchup against the lengthy, defensively savvy Pelicans squad could hurt his chances to hit the PRA number.

Williams averages just 16.5 PPG against NOP this season in two games, while shooting 44% from the field. A slow-paced matchup combined with the defense of Herb Jones and Naji Marshall from New Orleans put JDub in a tough spot tonight.

G D’Angelo Russell (LAL): Over 7.5 AST

Easy pick here. Russell has reached his assist total in each game LeBron doesn’t play in this season. With King James doubtful tonight, DLO should have no issue hitting the 8-assist mark, averaging 10.7 assists in the 9 games without James.

DeAaron Fox (SAC): Over 26.5 PTS

Fox has hit the over in his last five games against Luka and Dallas. With the Mavs on a four game win streak and the Kings coming off of a few tight victories, look for this one to be a high scoring affair in which guard play takes over.

This is a matchup Fox loves. The last time he scored less than 28 points against Dallas was all the way back in 2021.

F Jimmy Butler (MIA): Over 22.5 PTS

Although Jimmy hasn’t reached this mark over his last two games, expect this playoff-like atmosphere in Miami to bring the best out of him. Averaging 25 PPG against Golden State in two matchups this season, the star wing oddly averages 47% shooting from downtown against Western teams compared to his 37% from the East.

After securing three wins in their last four games, expect Jimmy to become the primary Heat scorer today against a Warriors team that is internally struggling to find themselves.
