The 9-game NBA slate for Tuesday night is highlighted by a TNT double-header that tips off with the Cleveland Cavaliers hosting the Boston Celtcis (are we sick of this team yet?) at 7:30 PM. The late game for the TNT slate will feature the Phoenix Suns at the Denver Nuggets.
For our League Pass viewers out there, we will have a Webmy sighting in Houston at 8:00 PM, and the Pacers at the Mavs should be an uptempo, high scoring show at 8:30 PM.
Over 25.5 PTS+REB+AST
MPJ has been on a heater post All-Star break averaging 22.3 PPG, 9.3 RPG, and 2.0 APG in six Nuggets wins. He’s hit this PRA marker in four of those six wins and opposite the high-octane Suns offense, hit 33 PRA in their matchup in early December.
With Coach Malone trusting in MPJ to be the premiere shot maker on this team with additional value as a 6’10 rebounding swingman, look for MPJ to walk away with a big night against a Suns team that struggles to defend on the outside.
Over 3.5 AST
Newly acquired Buddy Hield has hit this mark in his last eight outings without De’Anthony Melton. The Sixers are heading to Brooklyn who don’t allow many assists per game, but with Mikal Bridges and Nic Claxton down low, look for Buddy to penetrate into creation for shots from Maxey and company.
Over 0.5 Double-Doubles
With Bam Adebayo playing in the mid-range and on the outside in this Heat offense and defensive scheme at times, Jalen Duren has a great chance to notch his 6th double-double in seven tries post All-Star break.
A 2nd-year star in the making, Duren has notched 32 double-doubles in 45 games this season while averaging more RPG against East squads. Look for his 33rd double-double tonight down in South Beach.
Over 23.5 PTS
One player living up to all the hype and hitting his stride is Victor Wembanyama. Wemby is averaging a ridiculous 24 PPG, 12 RPG, and 5.3 APG in his last six alongside some elite 3-point shooting.
After securing two wins in a row, Victor and the Spurs will face up against a Houston team that isn’t great at handling inside presence and is beatable by bringing Sengun out of the paint. Look for Victor to dominate this matchup and notch his 3rd straight 24-point outing.
