Well. It’s a strange feeling to get a pick correct even when your analysis for why you made the pick turns out to be 1000% percent wrong. The under on Friday might have hit, but it sure wasn’t because Steph Curry had a bad game. (laughs) I’ll take it anyway.

Boston Celtics at Golden State Warriors, 9 pm Eastern
The Pick: under 212 points (-110), bet $11 to win $10
Tonight’s Game 5 is a bigger game than this group of Boston Celtics has ever played, and I think they’ll respond in two ways. First, on offense they’ll be a little tight, scoring closer to their results in Games 2 & 4. Second, they’re going to put forth a tremendous effort on the defensive end. Defense has been the consistent area for Boston all year, they’re the best in the NBA on that end of the floor, and coach Ime Udoka knows it’s what his team can control. It’ll be tough for Golden State to score. We still haven’t had a classic, close game in this series. Tonight’s as good a night as any, and if it’s close, it means that Boston’s defense has stood tall. That indicates the under.
