Boston Celtics at Golden State Warriors, 9 pm Eastern
The Pick: over 211.5 points (-110), bet $11 to win $10
The over/unders have been good to me recently, so I’ll stick with playing them as the Finals start tonight. These Finals have the public siding with Golden State, while the analytics lean Boston. I’m leaning offenses. This series should not be the clutch & grab fest that the Miami series was for Boston. While the Celtics’ defense is terrific, the Warriors’ offense is up to the task. In their last three matchups, the Warriors and the Celtics have averaged a total of 216.3. Both teams will be rested and ready to go, and I think the line reflects too much respect for “Game 1 nerves.” I like a tight game that goes to the wire, which means 100% effort towards scoring until the final whistle.
