Boston Celtics at Miami Heat, 8:30 pm Eastern
The Pick: over 203.5 points (-110), bet $11 to win $10
For this crucial Game 5, the over/under has come down from roughly 207.5 in the earlier games. I feel that’s recency bias, given Game 4’s 102-82 score. Boston started that game off 17-1 and finished the first quarter leading 29-11. In other words, Miami was never in the game from the opening tip and in a way, both teams cruised somewhat. Game 5 will be fought tooth-and-nail, but 203.5 seems low for a game where Jimmy Butler will be prominently involved and coming off a lackluster performance. Butler had only 7 points in Game 4 but clearly dialed it back once it was clear the Celtics were winning easily. Butler is banged up a bit but games like this are where he shines. The combination of intensity, better offense, and a lowered line has me siding with the over.
