Dallas Mavericks at Golden State Warriors, 9 pm Eastern
The Pick: Dallas +5.5 (-113), bet $11.30 to win $10
On the one hand, Dallas beat the top-seeded Phoenix Suns in their last series, and by the seventh game, the end of the series, it wasn’t close. On the other hand, Golden State won their series in six games - but their opponent, Memphis, was without their star player. Ironically enough, the Mavericks are coming into this series with momentum even though they had to play more games in the previous round. Dallas star Luka Doncic is the best player in this series, although Golden State, with Steph Curry, has plenty of star power of their own. But the Warriors are gonna have a real matchup problem with Doncic. He’s too big for any of their guards and too quick for Draymond Green. The Mavericks are on a roll right now and won’t be afraid of going into Golden State’s Chase Center and giving the Warriors a game. I think they hang in Game 1…
The Pick: Dallas to win series, +185, bet $20 to win $37
I think this is a great value play. There’s no way Dallas is so much worse than Golden State they should be getting this price. The Mavericks won the series with the Warriors this season, 2-1, including beating them in San Francisco on Feb. 27. Since the New Year, the Mavericks have been the biggest surprise in the NBA (along with Boston), and Warrior stars Steph Curry and Klay Thompson are not quite themselves right now.
